Biography
Monic articled and practiced with a large Edmonton law firm before moving to the Okanagan. In Edmonton she practiced in the areas of corporate law, real property, privacy and administrative law.
In 2010 Monic and her husband moved to the Okanagan where she joined the legal team at the FortisBC Group of Companies. In her current role as in-house counsel and Chief Privacy Officer, Monic practices mainly in the areas of corporate law, securities, privacy, finance and transactional work. As part of her role, she is often asked to review and develop policy, advise and educate various levels of management, and negotiate on behalf of the various companies.
Monic feels that her role as internal counsel provides her with the opportunity to use the skills she has learned through both her LLB and MBA. She has been called the bar in British Columbia and Alberta.
